Who are we?
Jorge Canseco, LCSW, Director, CEO

Jorge is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Jorge has been working in the field of Mental health since the mid 1970's. In the early 80's, Mr. Canseco and his business Partner Fernando Ruiz PhD., recognized the need for mental health services for families impacted by crime in the South Los Angeles region, they opened CDF in 1984. Jorge Canseco is an expert in the field of treatment for Domestic Violence (DV), a facilitator for treatment groups for victims and perpatrators of DV, and a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) providing individual therapy. Director of this agency for the past 30 years, Mr. Canseco has provided the community of South East Los Angeles with quality mental health services staffed with compassionate, qualified linguistically and culturally knowledgeable therapists and facilitators.
Andrea Canseco-De Leon, MS, MA, LMFT,
Assistant Director
Andrea is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been working with women and children in crisis for the past 7 years. Ms. Canseco-De Leon is a certified leader with A Window Between Worlds, has undergone 40 hours domestic violence certification, and Trauma Focused Treatment and Intervention training. Andrea leads the Battered Women's Domestic Violence Group in English, and is available for Individual therapy sessions throughout the week, by appointment only.

2013 - National Crime Victims' Rights in association with Victim-Witness Assistance Program awarded Centro de Desarrollo Familiar for their continued work with victims of violent crimes over the past 30 years.

Jane Canseco, LMFT
Ms. Canseco's therapeutic experience is broad-based, but focused on working with clients, who have suffered trauma, such as domestic violence, sexual abuse or sexual assault, child abuse, and other violent crimes. Ms. Canseco has received specific training for the relief of panic attack symptoms as well as trauma work, and she is a member of the International Trauma Providers Association. In addition to her work as a therapist, Ms. Canseco's lifetime experience includes 30 years working with children and families in educational settings. Experienced as a teacher and school administrator, she has extensive experience with special education programs and the Individual Educational Plan process. Services are provided in English and Spanish as appropriate to the needs of the client.
